Entre a Atividade Brainstorming e a atividade experimental realizamos uma atividade de pesquisa de modelos e conceitos historicamente relacionados com a evolução do conhecimento científico acerca da morfologia e fisiologia do sistema cardiorrespiratório, até aos cientificamente aceites atualmente.
Gostámos bastante desta atividade devido a ficarmos a saber que antigamente também havia modelos sobre o coração e que os cientistas tivessem alguma ideia embora sejam algo distantes das ideias atuais e que os seus esquemas relacionados com a sua ideia fossem também algo diferentes do que se conhece hoje.
Tivemos várias questões para responder sobre o sistema cardiorrespiratório, e as questões que nos suscitou mais interesse foram aquelas que conseguimos achar a ideia de antigamente e a ideia atual entre as quais:
- Função do sistema cardiovascular/circulatório : Antigamente houve três ideias sobre a função do sistema, de Hipócrates, de Praxágoras e de Erasístrato, e atualmente há uma ideia que a função do sistema é transportar nutrientes, gases, hormonas e hemácias, a fim de defender o corpo contra doenças, regular a temperatura corporal e estabilizar o pH.
- Estrutura/Formação do coração : Antigamente havia a Conceção de Harvey, a Conceção de Rigatto e atualmente há outro modelo.

- Funcionamento do coração : Antigamente houve uma ideia de Aristóteles e atualmente há a ideia de o coração ser um músculo e que funcione através das duas aurículas, dos dois ventrículos, da artéria aorta e pulmonar, da veia cava inferior e superior, das veias pulmonares, das válvulas semilunares, das válvulas auriculoventriculares, bicúspide e tricúspide.
- Funcionamento do sistema cardiovascular/circulatório (circulação sanguínea) : Antigamente havia a Conceção de Harvey e atualmente há outro modelo.

Between the
Brainstorming activity and the experimental activity we made an research of the
modals and historical concepts associated with the evolution of the scientific
knowledge about the morphology and physiology of the cardiorespiratory system,
to the scientifically accepted presently.
We enjoyed
this activity very much because we learnt that formerly there also existed
modals about the heart and that the scientists already had an idea although it
was something long run from the current ideas and that its related schemes with
its idea were also something different than its known now.
We had
several questions to answer about the cardiorespiratory system, and the most
interesting questions were the ones we managed to find out the formerly idea
and the current one, which are:
- Function
of the cardiovascular/circulatory system: Formerly there existed three ideas
about the systems function, of Hippocrates, of Praxágoras and of Erasistratus,
and currently there is an idea that the systems function is to transfer
nutrientes, gases, hormones and red cells, to defend the body against diseases,
to regulate the corporal temperature and to stabilize the pH value.
- Structure/
Formation of the heart: Formerly there was the conception of Harvey, the
conception of Rigatto and currently there is another model.

- The
hearts operation: Formerly there was an idea of Aristotle and currently there
is the idea that the heart is a muscle and that it works through the two
auricles, through the two ventricles, through the aorta and pulmonary artery,
through the vena cava inferior and superior, through the pulmonary veins, the semilunar
valves, the atrioventricular valves, through the bicuspid and the tricuspid.
- Function
of the cardiovascular/circulatory system: Formerly there existed the Conception
of Harvey and now there exists another model.
